A new workbook has been designed to aid communication between pharmacies and general practice.
The tool is created by the National Pharmacy Association and British Medical Association to help boost local dialogue between the two groups.
The ultimate aim is that the workbook will improve patient care.
Ian Facer, chairman of central Lancashire LPC, who has already used the tool, said: "The pharmacy white paper highlighted the importance of relationship-building between community pharmacists and GPs - this workbook is an ideal way to take the initial steps."
The workbook highlights incidences of good practice between GPs and pharmacies, and aims to help the two groups identify local problems and develop solutions.
