Seminar programme confirmed for WMS Demo Show

The future of patient monitoring, changes to surgery services and pension concerns will all be discussed by experts at a new show for primary care.

The seminar programme has now been confirmed for the free-to-attend WMS Demo Show, which takes place at Newbury racecourse on February 9.

Visitors can get ‘hands-on' with the latest medical equipment, pioneering products and services of all the major manufacturers in one place - rather than wait months for an individual visit to their surgery.

And there will be demonstrations of the most innovative equipment taking place throughout the one-day event, which is open to all who work in primary care.

Leading manufacturer Bosch will unveil time-saving technology it believes will revolutionise patient monitoring, by removing the need for patients with chronic conditions to visit GPs.

Seminar speakers include Rosemary Smith, Manager of Healthcare at Whittingham Riddell LLP, who will discuss the future of surgery services - understanding the need to diversify, merge or expand to survive the changing culture of primary care.

And specialist medical accountant Ann Tudor, offering expert analysis on the legislation complexities in GP wealth protection, with pensions a particularly hot topic at present.

Both Ann Tudor and Rosemary Smith are members of the UK200Healthcare Group, a national group of quality assured independent accountants and lawyers who understand the challenges facing doctors.

The show is organised by Williams Medical Supplies, the leading provider of medical supplies and services to the UK healthcare market.

Exhibitors include 3M - the brains behind the pioneering Bluetooth stethoscope that made national newspaper headlines recently.

Steve Dunn, CEO of Williams Medical Supplies, said: "There are many changes taking place in primary care and this show aims to help practices, by bringing together expert speakers, pioneering equipment and services of interest.

"It will be an exciting event for everyone working in primary care and the best place to decide what to spend available funds on."

WMS operates a price beat promise on medical equipment and consumables but has added two extra incentives for visitors to attend. For any order placed at the show above £200, WMS will provide £100 of vouchers for medical disposable products. And practices that attend will receive a £50 discount voucher off their next order placed with WMS.
