Healthcare property developer Primary Asset has been working with construction specialist Wilmott Dixon and its partners to develop a vision for a community based primary care centre for the future.
The building forms the hub of the healthcare for the wider population. It describes a journey through health from home through the ‘surgery’ to the wider community and the opportunities afforded by leisure, diet and education. Telemetry and web interaction drive new methods of communication and enablement. The early detection of disease and wide scale prevention programmes will drive overall healthcare gain.
The key issues for society in the future will be to maximise heath against an increasingly fixed budget and within this building the technologies and database will drive health efficiencies and better utilisation of core resources.
Understanding how these strategies will be put in place will be key. The building not only exemplifies what may happen-it amplifies what is already achievable and all of the designs or technologies on display are available today. All the displays are referenced against active working models. The Community Healthcare Campus solidifies the art of the possible into an active and deliverable model.
Wilmott Dixon and Primary Asset are already delivering many of these solutions in current projects-whether as self diagnostics or carbon dioxide sensors these changes are already being embodied to ensure that we meet the challenge of flexible, effective and efficient buildings that ensure the best in healthcare for the communities that the centres serve.
